Neeraj's Big Leap: Ditching JSW for Vel Sports

The Decision of Neeraj Chopra to Start His New Company Vell Sports and Leave JSW Sports

Neeraj Chopra is the Javelin King of India. He has ended a ten-year association with JSW Sports and has created a new company called Vell Sports. The contract with JSW was formally terminated at the end of December 2022.

At the same time, JSW and Neeraj are parting ways on friendly terms. Neeraj was supported by JSW Sports from the time he was a very talented young athlete until he won an Olympic Gold Medal in 2021 and a Silver Medal in Paris in 2022 and his 2023 World Championship title. JSW Sports was a big contributor to Neeraj's success and the growth of Indian Athletics. JSW Sports CEO, Divyanshu Singh, said it was a "wonderful journey" being part of Neeraj's journey to success, stating that he believed they did it together as partners.

Neeraj also thanked JSW for their support throughout his career. He stated, "JSW has been a part of my journey since I was a teenager. They have helped me grow as an athlete and as a person. I will always be grateful to them for that." Rumours about Neeraj becoming an entrepreneur started in 2020 when Neeraj was involved in running the NC Classic events in Panchkula and Bengaluru. Sources say that in addition to his own sporting career, Neeraj is also considering opening a High Performance Centre for athletes in the Track and Field discipline. Lt.
