Google's Space Doodle Lights Up India's 77th Republic Day!

The Republic Day Doodle Highlights Our Great Contributions to Space Through Theme and Tone of Art Created by Google "Cosmic Tribute to India's Space" for 77th Republic Day Celebration

Hey space nerds and proud Indians! 2026 is our 77th Republic Day! Google has released an awesome doodle for us! A colourful creative celebrating all of ISRO’s space activities! It is an exciting fun art piece about how India is making strides in astronautics. Let’s indulge our inner geek and check out the doodle.

A High-Five to India’s Space Program

Google creates a doodle to celebrate significant moments in a country and this doodle is specifically celebrating India’s success in astronautics. It depicts rockets launching amidst swirling cosmic patterns and has representations of all 3 major ISRO projects: Chandrayaan, Gaganyaan, and Aditya-L1! The artwork is a very straightforward artwork that is a small celebration of how India has transitioned from a developing country to a space superpower!

ISRO’s Recent Success!

Chandrayaan-3 Lunar Orbiter: In August 2023, Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the south pole of the moon proving India’s engineering capabilities are of a very high level.

Aditya-L1 Solar Orbiter: Aditya-L1 was India’s first solar observatory. Aditya-L1’s purpose is to continually provide the entire world with solar data and discoveries.

Gaganyaan (Human missions): We are preparing to send 4 Indian astronauts into space by 2026.

What Is Special About This Doodle:

Republic Day is a day filled with Indian pride, right? It always features parades and flags waving high along the streets and an overwhelming sense of nationalism, but this time around, Google has looked toward the future of space exploration by including elements of rocket launches from their previous accomplishments (which include PSLV/GSLV rockets) and satellite orbiting, which are symbols of India’s success in the future of space exploration and, therefore, of their continued growth in all things technology related.
